Ethiopia Neja Fadil Black Honey

A phenomenal coffee from Ethiopia processed in an extremely rare and unique way. You've had washed and naturals from Ethiopia. This is one of the few honey-processed coffees we've ever seen from there.

The Neja Fadil wet mill in Guji has around 250 members from the villages surrounding the wet mill. This lot in particular (made from 45 of the 250 registered farmers) is super unique in that it's only in the past few years that residents of Tobitu Tata have begun farming coffee.

Mr. Neja Fedil himself is new to coffee exporting -his washing station opened in 2017. As is becoming increasingly common at private washing stations in Ethiopia now, the station is currently expanding registration of farmer suppliers and launching agronomy trainings to expand quality control to the farm level.

This is really unique coffee - varietals include 74110, 74112, Dega, Wolisho. This is a floral, clean, sweet coffee with some acidity and a silky mouthfeel. The aroma is lavender like with dark plum. The flavor reminds us of honey and mango. Next we notice red grape, blueberry and peach. The finish is a hint of lemon with bergamot and black tea like earl grey tea with lemon.
